Accessibility & usability audit

Find out how to make your website inclusive & accessible

In Ontario, Canada, your website must meet accessibility requirements by June 30, 2021 if you have a business or non-profit of 20+ employees.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) is an Ontario law mandating that organizations must follow standards to become more accessible to people with disabilities.  Over 22% of Canadians identify with having a disability.

The AODA has required that private or non-profit organizations with more than 50 employees and all public sector organizations make their website and web content compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA. You will need to file an accessibility compliance report to indicate your website meets accessibility requirements.

Failure to comply could result in fines of up to $100,000 for each day of violation.

Automated tools cannot find all accessibility problems - there are many issues these tools cannot identify, such as:

  • Quality and accuracy:  inadequate alt tags, contextual labels, or links;

  • Keyboard focus patterns - illogical focus location and document reading order; and

  • Custom widgets - poor keyboard interaction and access problems.

What will you get?

We will:

  1. Provide a 1-on-1 meeting with our certified accessibility expert.

  2. Perform an evaluation of your website.

  3. Identify website issues that do not meet accessibility standards.

  4. Provide recommendations for remediation to fix accessibility issues.

  5. Determine opportunities to improve engagement with your customers and enhance your site's design and usability to be more inclusive.

All the findings will be brought together into a comprehensive report that allows stakeholders to remediate the issues found based on recommendations provided.

Starting at $3500

Automated tools only catch between 30-50% of accessibility issues, so it is important to not just rely on automation and have a qualified specialist audit your site.
